Falls Plaza is a hand-rendered urban plaza design strategically placed at the intersection of Pulaski Street and W. Dougherty Street in downtown Athens, surrounded by local churches and a burgeoning market. Designed as an urban oasis for residents and students seeking tranquility amid the city's hustle, the plaza centers on the soothing sounds of a cascading waterfall that pours into an elegantly designed collecting pool. The waterfall serves as both visual focal point and natural sound barrier, muting downtown traffic and giving the space its distinctive auditory presence.

Visitors enter the plaza along a path of high-quality concrete pavers, flanked by robust concrete planters and a seating area for those who prefer not to interact with the raised concrete seating. The seating itself is rendered in a series of layered rectangular concrete benches, accessible via short, dramatic wooden steps that add functionality and aesthetic character. Encircling green walls contribute to the feeling of an enclosed natural space, providing a lush green backdrop that contrasts with the urban environment.

Overlooking the plaza is a striking brick mural depicting the iconic Athens Falls, adorned with vibrant moss and integrated with a working waterfall that flows into the collecting pool below.
